Well I finished my 3rd 5K today and I am happy to report a new best time. Me and the better half finished in 29minutes and 29 seconds. I finished 10th in my age group and she finished 8th in hers. It was a great race with great weather, looking forward to the next one!
Well on Friday(12/5) our litter was born. We are now the proud new parents of 4 black English Cocker Spaniels! Well at least until they are sold. They were born fast, all 4 in under 45 minutes. Yesterday we had their tails docked and dew claws removed and they are at home resting with mom. There was 1 girl and 3 boys, all healthy. Well, its just about that time to welcome our new litter of English Cockers into the world. We expect them to be born sometime this week. As of the ultrasound we are expecting 3 for sure, but based on her weight and size we think maybe at least 4 or 5. We go for xrays in 2 days so we will know for sure then, if she lasts that long. We have no idea what coats to expect since we bred a red with a blue rhone so it should be interesting. For those who may not be familiar with English Cockers, read more here . There is a significant difference between Englsih Cockers and their American counter parts...
Well you think I would learn, but I have now been registered for another 5k in December. Me, my dad and better half will be running the Jog'r Egg Nog'r 5K on December 20th here in Dallas. And to think most of my life I hated to run. Actually, I can't really say I like to run now, but I really like finishing :) Plus I just bought me a new Garmin Forerunner 305, so now I have to have a race to try it out in. Time to beat is 30:31! Well at 9 am this morning the horn sounded and the race began. And 5 kilometers and 30 minutes and 31 seconds later me and Debby Crossed the finish line. It was a cold one, but we are proud to say we finished and beat our previous 5k time by more than 5 minutes! Here are the result for me Debby and my father: Patrick Time:30:31.40 27th for Men 20-29 240th Overall Debby Time:30:32.10 33rd for Women 30-39 242nd Overall Gerry Time: 36:56.25 21st for Men 50-59 335th Overall Thin k will make this one an annual run! Well the day is fast approaching for my second 5k race. I will be running in the Richardson Gobble Hobble this Saturday. Unfortunately today I find myself a little under the weather so training is a bit tough. Hopefully all will be good. I am not usually much of a runner but lately have found my health an important factor in my life so I am making an effort. Right now my time is about 34:33 for a 5K so lets hope for at least that! Good luck to me!
Well its official, we're preganant... at least our English Cockers are. We bred our young male Wiley with our Females' mother Katie and she is pregnant! As of the ultrasound we have 3 coming for sure, but you never know! The puppies are due the first or second week in December so stay tuned!
